Installation Instructions

Make sure you remove any debris & dust and make sure the surface is completely dry.

A light sandpapering applied to the back of the Tactile will also assist adhesion.

1. Use masking tape to mark the area where the tactiles have to be installed.

2. Place the template into position and tape corners to hold the template firm.

3. Remove the plastic cover plug from the top of the Tactile adhesive cartridge. Fit the long stem plastic mixing nozzle onto the end of the cartridge as printed on the cartridge instructions.

4. Place a small amount (Tic Tac size ) of the adhesive into the centre of each circle.

5. Place the Tactile into position and turn the stud a half a turn to allow the glue to spread under.

NOTE: Too much adhesive will spread outside of the Tactile and show.

6. Once the template is complete with the tactiles very carefully lift and remove it.

Luminance Contrast
The Building Code of Australian/New Zealand and the AS/NZS 1428.4.1 require a minimum luminance contrast of 30%. Guidelines are as follows

  • Integrated tactile indicators – not less than 30% across the entire area
  • Discrete (individual) tactile indicators – not less than 45%
  • Where Discrete tactile indicators are constructed of two colours or materials the raised section shall have a minimum contrast of 60%
